André Loss is an active soloist and chamber player in South and North America. His is currently Associate Professor of Piano and Piano Literature at the Music Department of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre, Brazil. He has played with major orchestras in Brazil and won several prizes in that country. Besides carrying on his performing and teaching careers, André Loss also leads a project for the revival of little known eighteenth century and pre-romantic piano concerti through the recovery of their complete scores, which led to his recent presentation of the first Brazilian performance ever of Johann Nepomuk Hummel's Concertino Op 73.
