If you are interested in renting one of our spaces for an event that isn't a performance (a wedding reception, a meeting, etc.), here is some basic information:

Rental Rates For Spaces Available (minimum 3-hour block of time, single use rate):
Lower Lobby - commercial rate is $525, nonprofit rate is $325 (can accommodate up to 125 for a seated dinner, several hundred for a reception)
Upper Lobby - commercial rate is $525, nonprofit rate is $325 (can accommodate up to 75 for a seated dinner, 150-200 for a reception)
Beverly Hazelwood and Starr Ward Garden Courtyard - rate is $300 (can accommodate 75-100 people)
Black Box - commercial rate is $500, nonprofit rate is $350 (can accommodate up to 40 for a seated dinner, 100 for a reception or program)

Each event must engage, at minimum, a Rental Supervisor.  In addition, Center staff must be engaged to operate sound, lighting, and theatrical equipment (if required).  Additional labor and equipment requirements will be determined by the Center based on the needs and nature of the event.

Labor (any fraction of an hour constitutes a full hour of charges; 3 hour minimum):
Rental Supervisor - $30/hour

Lighting and Audio technicians - $30/hour
Security and Traffic Control - $26/hour (number of officers determined by size of event)
Custodial Services - flat fee of $275

Full Sound System - $250/event
Partial Sound System - $175/event
Podium - $25/event
Riser - $25/event (height can be 8"/16"/24"/32")

Francis Marion University has a contract with Aramark for all events catered at the PAC.  Outside caterers will not be permitted.

Event Insurance:
Renters must obtain and maintain liability insurance that covers the event and all related activities and that names the FMU Performing Arts Center on the policy.  Specifics regarding this insurance are in the Scheduling and Usage Policies document.  Proof of insurance must be provided to the PAC no later than 14 days prior to the event.

The PAC has 4 rectangular tables and a small quantity of chairs that are included in the rental for free, if available.  For larger quantities, please contact one of our local party rental vendors.
