Supporting the Center

The PAC has four primary residents:

1. FMU Department of Fine Arts - The second floor of the Academic Wing has a Technology Lab and practice rooms for classes and rehearsals for the Music Industry degree students.  There are also three Music faculty offices.  Each season the Department of Fine Arts will determine which of its music ensembles from the Music program and which of its plays from the Theatre program will be presented downtown and which will be presented on the FMU campus. 2. Florence Symphony Orchestra - The FSO has been in existence for over 60 years, and it will have a permanent home at the PAC beginning in Fall 2011.  The Symphony will present five concerts on the Mainstage, and the Youth Orchestra will use both the Mainstage and Black Box to present several concerts.  For further information, please visit www.florencesymphony.com

3. MasterWorks Choir - Although MasterWorks Choir is currently based out of the Central United Methodist Church, it will also present concerts at the PAC.  Founded in 1979, the 50-voice choir is a highly respected and critically acclaimed regional community chorus.  For further information, please visit www.masterworkschoir.org

4. South Carolina Dance Theatre - Although the South Carolina Dance Theatre has studio space on 2nd Loop for rehearsals and workshops, it will present a fall production of The Nutcracker and a spring ballet at the PAC.  Founded in 1976, the SCDT is a non-profit corporation that seeks to encourage and nurture the artistic growth of dance as a performing art.  For further information, please visit www.scdancetheatre.com

The events for these primary residents will be scheduled 1-2 years in advance on the PAC calendar, before the presenting series and rentals are scheduled for each season.  The primary residents also have the use of a shared office in the PAC.
